Seek and find the barriers within yourself..

According to the Sufi master Rumi, “Our task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” When we approach our human relationships in this way, we welcome our pain, we commit to feeling and not avoiding.

The average person uses their relationship or longs for a lover or partner to avoid feeling feelings and to fill up the holes and places of emptiness. In the old paradigm of sexual partnership, one would leave when the shadow of their partner would begin to arise, we would either escape, avoid, deny or quite simply go emotionally numb. This avoidance of feeling, has a detrimental affect and actually blocks and stagnates our life energy, dimming down our innate effervescent joy for life. In a sacred tantric relationship we welcome these emotions in ourselves and in our partner and we learn to hold the space for each other to feel and to heal the wounds of love.

The month of December is here - so last chance to make some changes this year :)

Christmas is around the corner, & soon the year 2013 has come to an end.
And as much as I believe that everyday is a good day to make changes to the better - now is an excellent opportunity..just before we are about to enter the year 2014! So if you haven't already; respect yourself enough to walk away from anything that no longer serves you, grows you, or makes you happy

Kundalini Yoga with me in Stockholm, Sweden 12-16th of December

Longing for Sweden where it certainly will be much colder and darker - but at least I will NOT have below freezing in my bedroom...
Längtar till Sverige där det visserligen kommer att vara mycket kallare och mörkare - men åtminstone kommer jag inte ha minusgrader i mitt sovrum.. :)



Jag kommer till Sverige i December, och vill så gärna dela med mig av mina yoga kunskaper och erfarenheter till vänner och bekanta, kända och okända, erfarna yogis och nybörjare - Alla är välkomna att delta :)

Jag kommer ge 3 extra långa klasser (2 tim/gång) med yoga, andningsövningar och meditation - med fokus på att behålla lugnet inför jul-och nyårshelgen :)
Klasserna är anpassade så att både nybörjare och mer erfarna yogis kan deltaga.

När: Torsdag den 12/12 kl 18-20
Fredag den 13/12 kl 16.30-18.30

Yoga at Sala Amada tomorrow - & in Sweden in December :)

The winter has officially arrived to Barcelona, so it is time to cosy up inside!
Tomorrow morning at 9.30 I will give a class at Sala Amada & in December I am off to spread some light in Sweden too :)

Holding on to a grudge is like letting someone live rent-free in your head

To be happy we need to forgive - ourselves..and others.
Everyday is a new chance to forgive..a new chance for forgiveness.
So forgive also those that you may feel does not deserve your forgiveness for some reason.
This does NOT give them a pass to hurt you..but it will free yourself from the burden of the pain - so you can move forward with freedom..

- And despite the rain, we have a full moon arriving tonight; a perfect time to leave behind what is no longer serving you..

Chanting Mantras & the Science of Naad

Some part of this I have posted earlier, but since someone asked me the other day in class about the power of mantra & how to chant correctly - here comes a longer explanation :)


What is a mantra?
Mantra is a sound current which tunes and controls mental vibration.The word mantra literally means “to free from the mind.”

Before I further explain what a Mantra is, I would like to make one thing clear; everything and everyone is made up of energies. In fact, the entire universe is made up of energy. And energy vibrates on different frequencies. Some energy vibrates on a frequency that we can hear with our ears; that’s what we call sound. Even thoughts are sounds, although they are silent sounds, therefore what we think and feel are sounds, or more correctly - vibrations. Sometimes, or actually quite often, a lot of people have too many thoughts “on their mind “due to certain “problems”. It can be problems at work, relationship problems, financial problems or anything else that makes one become stressed, worried, angry or even depressed.

We are trying to find a way to ease those worries; some people use positive affirmations, others meditate. That is where the mantra comes in. A Mantra is a very powerful and efficient way of meditating. What we think is what we are, and when we chant a mantra, we control and direct our thoughts and mind towards happy thoughts and positive thinking.We chant to awaken our soul and make our heart sing!

There are many different mantras to choose between. There are mantras to create inner peace, for prosperity, increased intuition, to reduce stress, and many more. Most Mantras are in Gurumukhi; the vibratory language of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. The sound we create when chanting these Mantras is not just any sound; it is a sound that cuts away the ego so you can feel/be your real you, your true identity. This is called “The Quantum Technology of the Shabd Guru” (Shabd = sound, Guru = Teacher or knowledge), meaning the use of sound as a teacher; so basically you teach yourself to be your “real you” when chanting.
The beauty of chanting these mantras correctly is; that even if you don’t understand the actual meaning or sounds, it is so effective it can still create a very profound change in your consciousness.

There is a scientific explanation to all this called the Science of Naad.
 

Naad refers to communicating harmony and is also the essence of all sound. It is the basic sound for all languages and it comes from one common source called the sound current. The science of Naad works with the movement of the tongue in the mouth, through language and chemicals changes in the brain. There are 84 meridian points located in the upper palate (the roof of the mouth). When we chant, we stimulate these meridian points in a particular way –and that increases the secretion of the hypothalamus gland, which is connected to the pituitary gland (that controls our level of serotonin). All this leads to a change of the chemistry in our brain – and this change of chemistry leads to a neutral & happy balanced mind,increased intuition and even better immune function.
Now that is why chanting Mantra can be so powerful and effective :)

First indoor class for the winter..

The indoor classes will be held at Sala Amada - just around the corner from La Sagrada Familia, with metro & buses close by.

My classes are normally held in English, with some Spanish or Swedish translation if needed.
- I am also available for private classes in any of those languages - a perfect way to combine both the practice of a new language AND yoga :)

Bring comfortable clothes (preferably white and in natural fabrics), water & perhaps a blanket to cover yourself during relaxation.
If you have your own yoga mat please bring it- but if not, you can borrow one there.

& it is recommended not to eat anything 2 hours before (or at least 1) - but, it is NOT a crime if you do..as long as you keep it light & easy to digest :)

As always, it is 5 euros for the first class, 2nd one is for free, and after that when you are hooked it is 10 euros/ class :)
- or sign up for a month and attend all my classes for 40 euros/month!
I will continue with my open air classes for as long as possible - WHEN it's possible, depending on the weather.
